Baitrunner: The Beauty of the Shimano Reel Plus More

It?s another fishing holiday for you, and as always, you can never get enough of the water, the feeling of freedom and the thrill of great adventure. You?re ready to reel the big fish in with your new Shimano BaitRunner. What?s superb is that you could go fresh water or salt water fishing and you'd only need your BaitRunner.

The Shimano BaitRunner B Series carries three variations. The 3500, which has a 4:7:1 gear ratio and a line capacity of 8/305, 12/230, 14/185; the 4500, which has a gear ratio of 4:8:1 and a line capacity of 14/295, 17/250, 20/195; and the 6500, which has a gear ratio of 4:2:1 with a line capacity of 20/270, 25/230, 30/185. The three Shimano BaitRunner models come with a sleek graphite frame and sideplate. The rotor for the 3500 and the 4500 is constructed from the same material, while the 6500 features an aluminum rotor. The Baitrunner B Series comes with a diecast aluminum spool, a flat T-type handle grip, and a waterproof drag. Its A-RB (Anti-Rust Bearings) are guaranteed to be 10 times more resistant to corrosion than other standard steel bearings. The Super Stopper feature gives an instant drag engagement and eliminates handle backplay. Another genius innovation in the Baitrunner is the Power Roller III. This allows a smooth wrapping of the line around the spool and minimizes loops when casting. The series also carries the dyna-balance, power handle torpedo knob and an automatic strike alarm.

The addition of the new innovations on the Classic BaitRunner makes the Shimano BaitRunner so wonderfully effective. For easy front drag setting, you just have to turn the notch either clockwise (increases drag strength) or counter-clockwise (decreases drag strength). When the notch is completely tightened by hand, drag is at maximum strength. If you decide to put the reel in total free spool, just flip the Baitrunner to the On position. The tension dial is used to set the right tension of the spool to match the type of bait. A complete turn to the left gives the lightest free spool tension and a complete turn to the right, increases the free spool tension. If you want to fish in a controlled free spool after making a cast, flip the BaitRunner lever to the BaitRunner On position. To set the hook, just turn the handle forward and the BaitRunner will instantly shift to Drag On. By doing this, the drag selected previously will take over as the fish is put in. When the lever is flipped to the Drag On position, the BaitRunner can be shifted manually.

For whatever type of fishing, be it big game fishing, angling, or offshore game fishing, you can be sure that the Shimano BaitRunner won?t let you down. Shimano Reels came up with a few changes and innovations for their BaitRunner Classic and produced the BaitRunner B Series. You will see the beauty of this series' handling when you try it out for yourself. It?s the Shimano Reel plus more.
