One Year in Business for Artistic Metal Art
(PRWEB) June 26, 2008 -- Western metal art superstore Artistic Metal Art is celebrating a full year of online business, proudly continuing to offer the hand-crafted décor items they've come to love.
"I read a quote that said 'Cowboys are our heroes and adventure was our dream', and that's really true of both Mark and I," says Mary Bittle, who operates www.ArtisticMetalArt.com with her husband. "We're both Texans; I rode in the grand entry in the rodeo when I was younger, and we're both small town people. This is a big part of who we are."
Mary and Mark opened the store originally out of a wish to work together on a business venture. "We live out in the sticks and love it," she says happily, "but we didn't want to spend several hours a day commuting back and forth to work." The business has since flourished online, bringing Texas-style Western décor to folks far and wide.
"Western décor is, for us, a natural," explains Mary. "We both love it, and it's how we decorate our house. We're entirely online because it gives us the time and the freedom to go on treasure hunts for different and unique Western accessories. We personally choose all of our own products, and we make changes to many of them, such as paint or decoration. Mark paints the Texas barn stars and sometimes covers them with cowhide, and puts star studs around the outline of the star. He takes the bar stools that are made out of tractor seats, and he dresses them up by putting different conchos on them; those kinds of items are only available at Artistic Metal Art or one of our distributors. We add products regularly, but we don't add anything that we wouldn't want in or around our own house."
Mary and Mark have opened an informational blog at www.WesternMetalArtBlog.com to spend more time getting to know their customers, offering additional product information as well as telling their own story. "We've met so many interesting people through our customers that I thought it would be a fun idea to do something where we could interact with them and exchange ideas," Mary explains. "I'd like to be more interactive with them than just through email."
In the coming year, Mark and Mary hope to expand on the product selection available from Artistic Metal Art, possibly adding non-metal items as a separate but related online store.
